One Question Interview: Debbie Patterson

If you could tell your patients 5 things, what would they be?

I had the opportunity to hear Debbie speak at a Clinical Symposium about Mindfulness & Neuroplasticity. Debbie kindly answered our question during her talk.

1. All pain is a real pain

It doesn't matter what the trigger is. Pain is not necessarily an accurate reflection of what is going on in our bodies.

2. Positive Nervous System

We have an incredible central nervous system. We should work to feed it and nourish it properly. Our brain is constantly changing - and we will work together to create positive change.

3. The Brain

There is a variety of way to access your brain - we are treating your brain and using movement to access your brain.

4. Self Control

You can self soothe and learn to move!

5. There are many different paths that we can take to improve

The overall goal is to have the expectation of joy and pleasure in learning, moving and improving.
