The Covid-19 pandemic has brought with it a need for PTs to reinvent ourselves and how we interact with patients.
Many professionals have shifted from in-person care to a virtual model of care and services. With this change, it is necessary to evaluate if the new, hands-off approach is as effective as the traditional method in clinic.
Bahram Jam discusses the pros and cons of telerehabilitation, as well as introduces some strategies to implement virtually that can improve patient care.
This course explores the opportunities physiotherapists/physical therapists have to empower their patients through more active treatment strategies using telerehabilitation.
It discusses current evidence observing if a hands-off approach may be a more effective option than the traditional hands-on physiotherapy we are familiar with. Additionally, the course examines patient outcomes with virtual care, focusing on chronic pain and patient satisfaction.
After this, the premise of motivational interviewing is introduced with a focus on empowering patients to make positive changes in their lives.
