Embodia for Patients

Your practitioner might use Embodia to schedule online consults with you.

There are 2 ways to start the online consult:

1. From the consult email

When your practitioner schedules a consult, you will receive an automated email (as well as several reminder emails if the consult is scheduled far in advance) that includes the consult details. For online consults, the email will also include a button that will allow you to join the consult

2. From the consult page

Sign in to your account and visit the consult page (more info here). On the consult page, a few minutes before the start of the consult, a button will appear. Click the button to join the online consult:

Joining the consult

If your practitioner is using Embodia’s Telerehab:

If your practitioner is using Embodia’s telerehab platform, a new tab or window will open.

When you first join the consult, your device may ask for permission to use your microphone and/or camera for the session, which would look like this.

If your device requests permission, you must allow the use of your microphone to be able to speak in the session and allow the use of your camera to be able to turn your video on during the session. If you accidentally select 'Block' instead of 'Allow', you can grant permission to use your microphone and/or camera from your computer settings. For more information, please refer to this troubleshooting guide.

On the next page, you can edit your name if you like, as well as turn on your microphone and/or video by clicking on the appropriate icon. When you are ready to join the consult, click the Join meeting button:

When you join the consult, you can turn your microphone and camera on/off by clicking on the appropriate icon at the bottom of the screen. If you don't see the icons, you may need to move your mouse so that the icons appear along the bottom of the screen.

If your practitioner is using Zoom for Healthcare:

When you join the consult, Zoom will open. If you don't have Zoom downloaded on your device, you will be prompted to download it.

Please make sure that you have the current version of Zoom downloaded onto your device.

How will I know if my practitioner will use Embodia's Telerehab or Zoom for Healthcare?

If your practitioner has booked you in using Zoom, in your consult email or consult page, you will find a 'Passcode on Zoom' below the Join consult button. This will allow you to know that you should download Zoom ahead of your telerehab session to avoid possible technical issues.
