Learners will acquire information on the basics of point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) and how it can be used for cardiorespiratory assessment and management. Emerging evidence surrounding PT-performed POCUS and training options, and challenges for expanding POCUS use among Canadian physiotherapists will also be discussed.

Speaker Biography
Dr. Anastasia (Annie) Newman, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Health Sciences at McMaster University, contributing to the Physiotherapy and Integrated Rehabilitation and Humanities programs. A clinically trained physiotherapist with over 15 years of experience in critical care, she also serves as a clinical instructor, teaching inspiratory muscle training (IMT) to graduate students. Her research focuses on ICU rehabilitation and treatment fidelity.
