Speaker Bios:
Shaheer Khawar
Shaheer is a practicing outpatient orthopaedic physiotherapist resident at Kings Cross Physical Therapy and Sports Injury Clinic in Brampton, ON. Shaheer is passionate about integrating research and clinical practice in the areas of access to care and orthopaedics. Shaheer’s special area of clinical interest includes the integration of motor learning principles into the rehabilitation of active individuals and high-performance athletes presenting with musculoskeletal concerns.
Darlene Reid
Darlene Reid obtained her Bachelors in Physical Therapy at the University of Manitoba, did clinical practice and research upon graduation, travelled internationally and nationally for a little less than a year, did more clinical practice and then did a combined MSc/PhD in Pathology at the University of British Columbia. Upon finishing her graduate degree, was recruited in the professorial stream at the University of British Columbia where she worked for 26 years and then was recruited as a professor at the University of Toronto in 2014.
Jill Robertson
Jill graduated from Dalhousie University in 1987 with a BSc(PT) and in 2001 with an MSc(PT) and received her Diploma in Manual and Manipulative Therapy in 1996.
She opened 3 physiotherapy clinics (1993, 2002, 2017) and was a part time lab demonstrator and sessional lecturer at Dalhousie University (1990 – 2016).
She has had numerous executive positions on provincial and national executives of the Orthopaedic Division and CAMPT (1991 to present) and in the AIM program, she has been an instructor (since 1996), an examiner (since 2002), and lead examiner (2014 – 2024).
Yvonne Lynch
Yvonne Lynch graduated with a B.Sc in Kinesiology from Simon Fraser University and a Masters of Physical Therapy from UBC. She went on to complete her FCAMPT training and to certify as a STOTT Rehab Pilates Instructor in all apparatus. She is a co-owner and practitioner at Treloar Physiotherapy in Vancouver where she is involved with mentorship and management of the physiotherapy team. Yvonne is active as an instructor and mentor within the Orthopaedic Division. She sits on the PABC Education Committee and is the Chair of the Orthopedic Division Adjunct Education Committee. Yvonne is committed to lifelong learning, collaboration and knowledge sharing.
